Color therapy is using colors for healing. Indeed, just like sounds, smells, and tastes, colors have a real impact on our well-being and health. In addition to talking about the health uses of colors, we also want to show you simple visualization exercises that you can use to allow colors to heal your mind, spirit, and body. But before we show you these simple tools for healing with colors, a bit more on color therapy.

What Is Color Therapy?

There are seven colors that correspond to the seven major centers of our physical and spiritual bodies. In Ayurveda, these centers are called chakras. Each chakra is related to a major organ and has a specific purpose, and a corresponding symbol and color. These seven chakras and their corresponding colors are:

  1. Root chakra – located at the base of the spine – RED
  2. Sacral chakra – located just below the belly button – ORANGE
  3. Solar plexus chakra – located in the upper abdomen – YELLOW
  4. Heart chakra – located in the middle of the chest – GREEN
  5. Throat chakra – located in the throat – BLUE
  6. Third eye chakra – located in the middle of the forehead – INDIGO
  7. Crown chakra – located on top of the head – WHITE or VIOLET

Color therapy is when we use or focus on a specific color with the intent in mind to heal the corresponding area in the body. You can also use these colors to heal by wearing clothes that have this color or surrounding yourself with items of the color that you want. But one of the simplest ways to enjoy the health uses of colors and to use colors for healing is visualization. And here’s how color therapy works.

If you have health problems related to these lower areas of your body you may have an imbalance in the root chakra, which can be either over or underactive. The emotions related to an imbalanced root chakra are feeling insecure about your basic needs, finances, shelter, and being in survival mode more often than not. Meeting end’s needs.

How to Use Color Red to Heal

Close your eyes and visualize the color red. “Place” this red light at the base of your spine (or perineum) and let it travel up your spine to the top of your head.
